FARMERS SURVIVAL FUNDS: OTUKPO LG CHAIRMAN, GEORGE ALLI WELCOMES ENUMERATORS TO OTUKPO. *Urges farmers to take advantage of the opportunity.The Executive Chairman of Otukpo Local Government Council, Rt. Hon George Alli, last weekend, welcomed the Agricultural Produce Sellers Association of Nigeria (APSAN) to Otukpo for the enumeration of farmers in Otukpo.APSAN, at the instance of the Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District, Senator Abba Moro, mobilized the Enumerators from the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (FMARD), for enumeration of farmers and their farmlands across Nigeria.The Otukpo Council Chairman charged the farmers present during the excercise to cooperate with the enumerators in order to fully benefit from the Agricultural support programme of the Federal Government, which was brought to Otukpo courtesy of Sen. Abba Moro, to whom he expressed his thanks. Rt. Hon. Alli said, “I welcome everyone of you to this exercise. This is a rare opportunity and I urge you all to cooperate with the enumerators so that none of you will lose out. Give them accurate information and be patient.””Let me also use this oppportunity to thank Distinguished Senator Patrick Abba Moro for his effort in bringing this programme to our people in Otukpo LGA. I urge all of you to take advantage of this”, Alli said. According to Comrade Aloys Akortsaha, National President of APSAN, the exercise was initially scheduled to hold in Otukpo on Monday February 1st, 2021. “We are here to extended the Federal Government Agricultural Intervention fund through Federal Ministry of Agriculture to farmers in Otukpo LG. We crave your cooperation and patience, as we commence this excercise. I also want to thank your Local Government Chairman, Rt. Hon. George Alli for his warm reception.”The delegation included Mr.Samuel Ujah, Liaison Assistant(Otukpo LGA) to Sen. Abba Moro, officials from Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Union Bank. Samuel Ujah noted that the program is designed to cover all agricultural ventures. He also encouraged the farmers to provide necessary information to ensure they get the benefits of the enumeration.
