A policeman was reportedly shot on Tuesday morning, April 12 while trying to foil the abduction of some residents of Tungan-Maje community in Gwagwalada Area Council of Abuja.
A resident of the community, Ibrahim Saidu told Daily Trust that the gunmen who first attacked residents of Anguwar Samu in Tungan-Maje, engaged both the police and some members of the vigilante in a shootout.

Saidu said;
“The entire residents of Anguwar Samu were gripped with fear because of the gunshots but unfortunately, they succeeded in abducting two people.”
The police officer and a vigilante member who sustained injuries in the incident have been taken to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.
