Police have launched a manhunt for an Mhangura man who murdered his wife and two children last night by striking them with an axe and then setting fire to their home.
Inspector Margaret Chitove, provincial police spokesperson, was waiting for information on the case this morning, but sources from Mhangura police station said a manhunt had been launched.
Justice Musungavarume (age unknown) of Hunter Farm, six kilometers from Mhangura town, attacked his wife and children after a disagreement over infidelity.
Linda Musungavarume, the accused’s sister, told The Herald that her brother had an altercation with Leen Maungwe (the now-deceased wife) over infidelity allegations.”
After having confronted his wife over infidelity, my brother vacated their matrimonial home to Mhangura“, she said, ” before coming back yesterday to attack his family“.
Mhangura police were called to the scene, and the three victims’ bodies were taken to the Makonde Christian Hospital mortuary.
