A PDP Frontline Governorship aspirant and State Deputy Governor Engineer Benson Abounu today met with Statutory Delegates of Jemgba comprising of Gboko/Tarka/Buruku Local Government Areas to intimate them of his Governorship ambition.
Addressing the delegates in Gboko, Engineer Abounu promised to increase affirmative action on women inclusion in his administration to forty five percent and will not disappoint them if given the mandate.
He told the delegates not to be afraid of voting him into office as the next Governor assuring that in the spirit of fairness, justice and equity all that is due to the Tiv people would be given to them.
The Governorship hopeful who described the delegates as major determinants of who becomes the Governor, sought their support to make history by voting a zone C man in person of Engineer Abounu to govern the State.
He stated that having gotten enough experience in both the private and public sectors, he knows the exact policies to put in place to make Benue great again, stressing that it is in dire need of development.
Earlier, Director-General, Abounu Campaign Organization, RT. Hon. Dave Iorhemba described his principal as a non detrabalised individual who will carry everyone along if given the mandate noting that with his experience and exposure, he would lead Benue to the paradise.
The Chairman, Advisory Council, Abounu Campaign Organization, RT. Hon. Terngu Tsegba said for fairness and equity, the Governorship should be taken to zone C and to Engineer Abounu particularly because he is the most competent.
Speaking on behalf of Gboko, Hon. Jacob Iorshee challenged the Tiv people to check their conscience to give an Idoma candidate in person of Engineer Abounu the opportunity to become the next Governor of the state as well as take it as their personal project.
Mrs. Juliana Suswam who spoke on behalf of Tarka Local Government,promised to support Engineer Abounu in the spirit of fairness, equity and appealed for women inclusion, while Hon. Iorvee Jirgba for Buruku expressed hope that the Deputy Governor would perform well if given the mandate to take over the mantle of leadership next year.
Also speaking, a stakeholder from Tarka Mr. Emmanuel Manger expressed belief In the ability of the Governorship hopeful to deliver dividends of democracy and charged the people to entrust their votes with Engineer Abounu, while Mrs. Maren Ashondo who spoke for women assured the Deputy Governor of their votes.
