President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to global leadership and sustainable development at the ongoing BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
In a statement posted on his official X handle, the president aligned Nigeria’s position with the summit’s goals of economic restructuring and inclusive global reform.
“BRICS must not only be a bloc for emerging economies but also a beacon for emerging solutions rooted in solidarity, self-reliance, sustainability, and shared prosperity,” Tinubu stated.
According to him, with young people making up 70% of the country’s population, development strategies must be tailored to meet their aspirations.
“We must be the architects of a future that addresses the specific needs and concerns of youths,” he added.
