Otukpo LG CRISIS: Leader Of Otukpo Legislative Council Honourable Amodu Anya Speaks

The attention of the Otukpo of the Otukpo local Government Legislative is Council is drawn to the fragrant disregard by chairman of Otukpo local Government council and a few disgruntled councillors to the Directive of His Excellency the Deputy Governor of Benue state chief Sam Ode dated 10th July 2025 directing for suspension of all actions by both arms of Otukpo local Government. Unfortunately in brazen exhibition of non compliance with the directive the council chairman went ahead to sponsor an announcement on Joy fm this morning 11th July 2025 misleading the general public that the leader of the legislative council Philip Amodu Anya have been impeached. The purported impeachment is the biggest joke of the century for the following reasons (A) There was no council sitting on 10th July 2025 (B) the purported sitting was held by minority of the councillors at a Beer parlour somewhere in Okenyi street Otukpo without The MACE and CLERK of council but acting under both the influence of Alcohol and the embattled Otukpo local Government Chairman carried the dead on arrival kangaroo impeachment. We urge the general public to disregard the misinformation as a casual Beer parlour talk, on the other hand our petition against the reckless financial conduct of the council chairman maxwell Ogiri is receiving the attention of His Excellency the Executive Governor, The Benue state House of Assembly and the Fiscal Responsibility Commission. The second phase of our journey to bring financial sanity to Otukpo local Government council is presently being prepared by our lawyers for the attention of the National fraud intelligence unit (NFIU) and the Economic and financial crimes commission Efcc, the point must be clear that the Executive Governor of Benue state Rv fr Hyacinth Iormem Alia have zero tolerance for corruption and we have a duty to support him to make Benue state great again.
