MAN STABS COUSIN TO DEATH IN BENUE

Tragedy struck in the North Bank area of Makurdi, Benue State, on Wednesday when a 25-year-old man, Abdulraman Rabiu, allegedly stabbed his cousin, Adamu Abubakar, to death during a violent altercation.

According to police sources, the incident occurred in the early hours at Lafia Garage, where a heated argument between the two escalated into a physical confrontation. In the course of the fight, Rabiu reportedly stabbed the 35-year-old Abubakar with a sharp object, inflicting fatal injuries.

Shortly after the attack, an enraged mob pounced on the suspect, beating him severely before the intervention of security operatives who rescued him and rushed him to Divine Love Hospital in the Low Level area of Makurdi for treatment.

“Both the suspect and the victim were taken to the same hospital, but unfortunately, Adamu Abubakar was confirmed dead while receiving treatment,” a police source confirmed.

The case has since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for a thorough investigation, as authorities work to determine the motive behind the fatal confrontation.
