BENUE GOV. ALIA BANS SCHOOL GRADUATION PARTIES, CUSTOMISED BOOKS
Governor Hyacinth Alia has banned graduation ceremonies in all basic schools across Benue State, citing financial relief for parents and the need to restore discipline.
The directive, effective immediately, also scraps customised textbooks and compulsory after-school lessons. Defaulters risk suspension or loss of license.
While some parents welcomed the move as a huge cost-saver, private school owners criticised the sudden implementation.
