Entire family kıłled, many injured as Dangote truck rams into vehicle

Tragedy has struck Enugu as a Dangote truck reportedly killed an entire family and others in a horrific accident on Wednesday, September 3, 2025. The incident, which occurred at the Four Corner junction, has sent shockwaves through the community and reignited public anger over the recurring menace of truck-related accidents.

According to social media reports and eyewitness accounts, the Dangote truck collided with a vehicle, causing devastating impact. A bus belonging to the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH), transporting staff and students, was also reportedly involved, resulting in numerous casualties.

Initial accounts from social media describe a scene of chaos and profound grief. The University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital has reportedly declared a “Code Yellow” in response to the overwhelming influx of casualties at its Accident & Emergency unit.

This latest tragedy adds to a grim tally of such incidents. Just weeks earlier, on August 31, 2025, Ruth Otabor, the sister of former Big Brother Naija winner Phyna, passed away in Lagoon hospital, Lagos State. Her death was the result of injuries she sustained in a separate Dangote truck accident on August 13, weeks before her death

The repeated, senseless loss of life has fueled public outcry and demands for greater accountability from Dangote Group and stricter enforcement of road safety regulations.

As tears fall and hearts break, the tragic road crashes that claim our loved ones serve as a brutal reminder of the crippling road safety challenges that Nigeria grapples with, leaving families to pick up the shattered pieces of their lives.
