SUBEB CHAIRPERSON, MANAGEMENT PAY COURTESY VISIT TO EDUCATION COMMISSIONER
The Executive Chairman, Benue State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr. Grace D. Adagba, on Tuesday led members of the Board and Management on a courtesy visit to the Honourable Commissioner for Education and Knowledge Management, Dr. Margaret Adamu, at the State Secretariat, Makurdi.
Dr. Adagba said the visit was to formally familiarize with the Commissioner and expressed confidence in her capacity to drive progress in the education sector. She highlighted the need for accurate school census data, especially on private schools, to attract international support, while stressing the importance of staff training and child-centered learning.
Responding, Dr. Adamu, accompanied by her Permanent Secretaries and Directors, appreciated SUBEB for being the first agency to pay her an official courtesy call. She assured of her commitment to reposition the Ministry and ensure synergy among its agencies, while prioritizing a credible school census.
The Commissioner also commended Governor Hyacinth Alia’s reforms, including modern school construction, provision of ICT and skills acquisition programmes, recruitment of teachers, and improved welfare for education personnel.
