The Honourable Member representing Otukpo Akpa State Constituency, Hon. Kennedy Agbogo Angbo, today joined the Honourable Minister of Works and Housing, Senator David Umahi, on an inspection of the ongoing Federal Government road project stretching from Makurdi to Ninth Mile.

During the inspection, which included a stopover in Otukpo, Senator Umahi dispelled speculations that the road might be diverted away from the main town. He reiterated that the project would indeed pass through Otukpo, stressing that this alignment is aimed at opening up the area for greater economic growth and development.

The Honourable Minister commended Hon. Angbo Kennedy for his consistent advocacy and commitment towards ensuring that the Otukpo section of the project is prioritized and completed. He also acknowledged the efforts of the China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC), the contractors handling the road, urging them to speed up work on the town axis, especially as the rainy season continues to pose challenges to road users.

In his remarks, Hon. Angbo Kennedy expressed deep appreciation to the Honourable Minister for personally visiting the site to assess the situation. He noted that the people of Otukpo and its environs have endured significant hardship, particularly during this rainy season, due to the state of the road.

The lawmaker reaffirmed his commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and pledged continuous support to the administration of His Excellency Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, the Governor of Benue State. He assured constituents that he will not relent until the road project in Otukpo is completed to standard.
