The Executive Chairman of the Benue State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr. Grace Adagba, and the Commissioner for Education, Dr. Margaret Adamu, on Thursday visited pupils of LGEA Primary School, Ater in Ukum LGA, who were injured in a recent explosion on the school premises.
The officials met the victims at St. Anthony’s Hospital, Zaki-Biam, where they cleared all medical bills and assured that the state government would begin immediate repairs on the damaged school facilities.
Ukum LG Chairman, Hon. Modi Jonathan, said investigations were underway to determine the cause of the blast. He revealed that three children had been discharged, while one with a severe eye injury would be referred to Makurdi for specialized care.
Parents of the affected pupils expressed gratitude to the state government for the quick intervention.
