The Delta state police command has arrested one of its officers over the shooting of a moving vehicle in Asaba.
The Arrest is coming less than twenty four hours after the arrested policeman in a viral video tried to forcefully stop the vehicle whose driver refused to stop after a hit-and-run.
Delta police spokesperson Edafe Bright in a statement, said the policeman was arrested because he acted unprofessionally.
The Delta police command condemns the act in totality , saying no policeman has the right to use his firearm without recourse to force order 237.
The Delta police commissioner CP Olufemi Abaniwonda has directed that the internal disciplinary action be initiated immediately despite the policeman said to be responding to a case of hit-and-run.
The CP assures members of the public that the officer concerned will be dealt with in accordance with the extant laws as stipulated in the police act and regulations to serve as a deterrent to others.
