One Feared Deàd as Suspected Herders Attàck Umogidi Community in Benue

 

One person has been confirmed killed following an attack on Umogidi community in Adoka, Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State.

The incident occurred earlier this evening when suspected herders reportedly invaded the community, causing panic and forcing residents to flee for safety. Details surrounding the attack are still emerging, but the assault has left the community in shock and mourning.

Local sources confirmed the casualty to EbonyNaija MediaBlog, while security agencies are yet to issue an official statement as of the time of filing this report. Residents have called on the Benue State Government and relevant security authorities to urgently intervene to prevent further loss of lives and restore peace in the area.

Umogidi community, like several other rural settlements in Benue State, has in recent times faced security challenges linked to herders’ attacks, raising renewed concerns over the safety of lives and property.
