Tension has gripped communities in Ogbadibo Local Government Area following a violent clash that erupted yesterday between two neighboring communities after a vigilante member allegedly shot and killed a youth over a debt of ₦9,000.
According to local sources, EbonyNaija MediaBlog gathered that , the incident occurred when the vigilante man reportedly confronted the Epaigbo youth over the unpaid debt. The confrontation quickly escalated, leading to the fatal shooting of the young man.
The development sparked outrage among members of the deceased’s community, who allegedly retaliated, triggering a violent clash between the two communities. The situation soon escalated, resulting in the burning of several houses and destruction of properties, while many innocent residents sustained injuries in the unrest.
Residents say the crisis has created panic in the area as families fled their homes to seek safety amid fears of further attacks.
