Chief Williams Obande Withdraws from Enone House of Representatives Race Ahead of Primaries

There was a major political development in Enone politics on Friday as Chief Dr. Williams Obande officially announced his withdrawal from the race for the Enone Federal House of Representatives seat, barely hours before the scheduled party primaries.

The respected political figure made the announcement in a personally signed statement addressed to the people of Enone, explaining that the decision came after deep reflection, prayers, and extensive consultations.

According to Obande, the decision was not made earlier in the day during his declaration outing in Ogbadibo, but was reached afterwards following further consultations and spiritual consideration.

The former aspirant described the journey so far as emotional and enlightening, noting that it gave him the opportunity to connect deeply with the people while strengthening his passion to serve the constituency.

However, he also revealed that the political ambition had taken valuable time away from his family, including his wife and children, a sacrifice he said he could no longer ignore.

Citing biblical references from Ecclesiastes 3:1 and Proverbs 19:21, Chief Obande stated that he believes every ambition has its appointed season and that God’s purpose ultimately prevails over human plans.

In what appears to be a strong comment on the forthcoming primaries, Obande openly alleged that the process seemed predetermined, saying:

“Tomorrow’s primary, as widely understood, appears to be a predetermined process, but I will walk away with my head held high, knowing I came with sincerity, love, and genuine commitment to Enone.”

Despite his withdrawal, he maintained that he harbours no bitterness, stressing that the decision was taken in wisdom, obedience, and for the preservation of his dignity and peace of mind.

He appreciated his supporters, friends, political associates, and family members for their unwavering support throughout the journey, while urging them to trust his judgment and respect his decision.

Chief Obande further assured the people that he remains committed to the unity, progress, and future of Enone, adding that he still intends to contribute to the political direction of the constituency as a “kingmaker” ahead of the general election.

The withdrawal has already sparked conversations across the Enone political landscape, especially coming less than 24 hours before the party primaries.

Chief Dr. Williams Obande signed the statement as:

“Chief Dr. Williams Obande
Owujoi K’ Idoma.”
