The people of Benue South are far more exposed, enlightened, and intelligent than many politicians and their media aids put together. We can no longer be swayed by carefully crafted narratives that have no bearing on reality. Go to other constituencies and see real project and not facebook pictures.
It is an insult to our collective sensibilities for anyone to come here and make unverified claims about projects allegedly executed by public officials. In a desperate attempt to market the third-term bid of Senator Abba Moro, his media aide yesterday posted over 45 images of projects purportedly carried out by the Senator. A closer look revealed that many of the images were duplicated, with the same project being presented multiple times as different projects.
Beyond the duplication of images, the promoters of these claims owe the public verifiable details about the projects they are advertising. The people deserve facts, not recycled photographs and exaggerated narratives.
I urge the good people of Benue South not to allow any paid agent or political propagandist to whitewash them into believing what does not exist. Let us ask questions. Let us demand evidence. Let us assess our leaders based on tangible performance and not on social media packaging.
How much has been received as constituency allowance and intervention funds over the past seven years, and where are the corresponding constituency projects? The people have a right to know how public resources meant for their benefit have been utilized.
The era of deception is over. The era of accountability must begin.
