Dr. Peter Adejoh Reportedly Declines ADC Deputy Governorship Offer After Benue Primary

Dr. Peter Adejoh, a former governorship aspirant on the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Benue State, has reportedly declined an offer to become the party’s deputy governorship candidate following the conclusion of the party’s governorship primary election.

According to source familiar with the development, the offer was extended to Adejoh in an effort to promote unity within the party after a keenly contested primary. However, the Businessman and politician is said to have politely turned down the proposal, maintaining that his political aspiration was focused on leading the state as governor rather than serving as a running mate.

Although Adejoh has not publicly released a detailed statement explaining his decision, party insiders say his refusal was based on personal conviction and his vision for Benue State’s future.

The ADC governorship primary in Benue has been surrounded by controversy, and disagreements over the outcome of the exercise. Some aspirants and stakeholders have questioned the credibility of the process, leading to court actions and calls for the party’s national leadership to intervene.

Political observers believe Adejoh’s decision could influence the dynamics within the ADC as the party prepares for the 2027 governorship election. Supporters are now awaiting an official statement from him regarding his next political move and future plans.
