BREAKING NEWS 13 Bodies Recovered, Many Others Injured as Herders Attack Efeyi Community in Ugboju, Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State

 

At least 13 bodies have reportedly been recovered, while many other residents sustained injuries, following a deadly attack on Efeyi Community in Ugboju, Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State, in the early hours of Tuesday, 28 July 2026.

According to reports from the community, heavily armed attackers invaded the area before dawn, unleashing violence that left several people dead, many others injured, and families displaced. Survivors and local residents described the incident as one of the deadliest attacks recorded in the community in recent times.

The injured victims are reportedly receiving medical attention, while community members continue search and rescue efforts. The attack has left residents in shock, with many fleeing their homes over fears of further violence.

The latest incident has renewed calls on security agencies and government authorities to intensify efforts to protect lives and property in Benue State and bring those responsible to justice.
