Kidnapped Otukpo Diocesan Seminarian Regains Freedom After Escaping Captors

 

There is relief and thanksgiving following the safe return of Mr. Kelvin Ochai, the Otukpo Diocesan seminarian who was abducted a few days ago.

According to available information, the seminarian successfully escaped from his abductors after trekking for several hours through the bush. He later emerged safely in Aliade, where he was received and welcomed by Rev. Fr. Vitalis Ioryue, C.S.Sp., at SS. Peter and Paul’s Parish, Aliade, in the Makurdi Diocese.

The development has brought joy to the Catholic community, family members, and all those who had prayed for his safe release since news of his abduction broke.

Further details surrounding his escape and his current condition are expected to emerge as authorities and the Church continue to assess the situation.
