BREAKING: Ogbadibo Assembly Member Hon. Agada Resigns From APC
Makurdi, Benue State — The member representing Ogbadibo State Constituency in the Benue State House of Assembly, Hon. Samuel Ismaila Agada, has formally resigned his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a formal notification dated August 3, 2026, addressed to the Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Agada announced his resignation from the APC with immediate effect.
The lawmaker said the decision followed consultations with his constituents, family, political associates and supporters in Ogbadibo State Constituency.
According to the letter, the decision was driven by his desire to seek a political platform that would better align with his ideology and the collective interests of his constituents.
Agada cited Section 40 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended), which guarantees the right to freedom of association.
He also disclosed that he had resigned his membership of the APC at the Ai-Ono Ward 3 level in Ogbadibo Local Government Area.
Despite leaving the APC, Agada stated that he remains a committed member of the Benue State House of Assembly, pledging to continue representing the people of Ogbadibo and discharging his legislative responsibilities.
2027 Political Implications
The resignation comes as political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections, potentially adding another layer to the evolving political landscape in Benue State.
