The landmark event, part of the historic Idoma Centenary Plus Celebrations, will induct more than 80 eminent personalities across diverse fields, including education, law, medicine, politics, business, entertainment, and public service, celebrating both living luminaries and deserving posthumous honourees. Among those set to be inducted are former Senate President David Mark and Senate Minority Leader Abba Moro.

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, will deliver the keynote address and be inducted as a “Friend of Idoma” alongside former Minister of Education Adamu Adamu, who is cutting short an overseas trip to attend.

Organised under the leadership of Central Planning Committee Chairman Chief Paul Harris Ogbole, SAN, and IHOF Founder Agaba Ikwue, the Hall of Fame aims to establish a permanent record of achievement, preserve heritage, and inspire future generations.

Ikwue emphasised that the platform represents a significant milestone in documenting and celebrating individuals whose contributions have positively influenced society.

The ceremony has also drawn strong regional solidarity from the ancient Kwararafa Kingdom.

In a statement issued by Media Officer Wukaska Bako Gowon on behalf of His Majesty, Nde Jika Golit, the Ngolong Ngas and Leader of the Kwararafa Rebirth Kingdom in Plateau State, the Palace reported an outpouring of interest from descendants eager to attend. The movement follows recent strategic engagements led by His Majesty, Dr Ishaku Adda Ali Matakitswen, the Aku Uka of Wukari and Father of the Kwararafa Kingdom.

Describing the Idoma people as a vital, resilient pillar of their shared heritage, the Plateau delegation announced that members will assemble at the Grand Ibro Hotel in Wuse Zone 5 by 10:00 a.m. on the day of the event for coordinated transit to the venue.

Meanwhile, the medical community has poured in tributes following the selection of former Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) President, Prof. Innocent Achanya Otobo Ujah, for induction under the Academia and Intellectual Achievement category. Prof. Ujah—a former Director-General of the Nigerian Institute of Medical Research (NIMR) and pioneer Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo (FUHSO)—was warmly congratulated by the Northern Caucus of the NMA, the Doctors’ Timeout Family, and other prominent healthcare leaders.

In a message signed by Caucus Coordinator Dr Idris Omede and Secretary Prof. Abdulfatai B. Olokoba, the NMA Northern Caucus, led by Dr Stephen Churchill Kitchener, praised Ujah’s distinguished career and national honours, including the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) and the National Productivity Order of Merit. Additionally, Dr Faruk Abubakar, Chief of Staff to the NMA President, commended Ujah as a visionary “Talk and Do” leader who advanced the NMA national secretariat building, transformed the Nigerian Medical Journal into a revenue-generating publication, commissioned the written history of the association, and instituted the NMA Annual Lecture.

Together, the convergence of political leaders, regional relatives, and professional bodies positions the inaugural Idoma Hall of Fame induction as a momentous national occasion dedicated to heritage, unity, and excellence.
