AN UNSERVICED LOYALTY IS A PRECURSOR TO DISLOYALTY

Two years ago, I did a post on the above subject matter and expectedly, it triggered a cortege of reactions.

To some persons, loyalty should not be cited. To others, it should be rewarded. However, I am still swimming with the belief that loyalty must be awarded. This is because God is the greatest rewarder of loyalty. If you are conversant with the story of Job, you will surely agree with this sentiment. Also, read the story of Daniel and Abednego. God extols the glamour of loyalty in the book of Hebrews 11:6.

In the same vein, in Matthew 19:27, Peter inquired from Jesus about what premia they would earn as disciples thus, “See, we have left all and followed You. Therefore, what shall we have?”

And Jesus answered back as follows: “Assuredly I say to you, that in the regeneration, when the Son of Man sits on the throne of His glory, you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for my sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life. But many who are first will be last, and the last first.” (Matthew 19:30)

The above riposte by Jesus Christ was akin to what some people phraseologically and metaphorically depicted as “Oche K’awo a’kanu”.

In life, we must be ready to service our loyalists to avoid disloyalty. 2023 is by the alcove and some smart politicians will begin to feign emergency but unctuous services of loyalty to acquire our support.

We must exhibit a high premium of wisdom as we file out to give our authorization to politicians angling for elective positions in 2023. We must exhaustively interrogate their capacity via the instrumentality of key performance indicators, sincerity of purpose, and their ability to add value to the system.

We must spurn ephemeral politics and go for servant leaders – a leader endowed with the interest of the people at the heart. Those who forsook us especially the quest for our community development after getting our authorization in previous elections must be shirked and abandoned in congruence with the theory of ” if you Tarka me, I Dabo you” and I am sure God will not be angry.

If you can not add value to my community after giving you the chance, don’t come to me. If you have no plans for my community, please, stay away from me. For I will only support those who care for my people. OUR MUMU DON DO.
