The Otukpo Local Government Chairman, Rt. Hon. George Alli has added another feather to his colorful flying wings by commissioning a second Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Center built by his administration in Otukpo’Icho.

The Chairman was accompanied to Otukpo’Icho by the Leader of Otukpo Legislative Assembly and Councilor Representing Otobi Ward, Hon. Enokela Alegwu, some councilors and members of Otukpo Executive Council, alongside his guest; Prince Anthony Idikwu, were received by the Oche’Otukpo Ódu, HRH, Chief (Dr.) John Eimonye, some community leaders and youths. Hon. Alli, during the brief ceremony, charged youths to take advantage of the Skills acquisition center to learn one or two skills will be beneficial to their economic wellbeing and cautioned youths against taking to crime.

“We built this center for our unemployed youths in mind as an avenue for them to come and acquire skills that could enable them channel their youthful energy into productive ventures . I also want to use this occasion to caution our youths against taking to crime. As leaders and parents we must remind our youths that crime does not pay”, Hon. Alli said.

Prince Anthony Idikwu commended the Otukpo Council Boss for his leadership skills and service to his people, especially at a time when the nation is grinding under harsh economic realities. He described Alli as ‘wonders making chairman’ and a rare gift to not just Benue South, but the entire Benue state. He said very few local government Chairmen in Nigeria are doing projects for their people like the Otukpo LG chairman is doing. Idikwu promised to donate computers, sewing machines, dryers, pedicure mamchine and other essential tools to the center as as an appreciation of the Chairman.

The Oche’Otukpo Ódu who cut the tape to commision the center thanked the Otukpo Council Chairman and his guest for the wonderful project Alli brought to his immediate community and for the promises Idikwu made to equip the center. Dr. Eimonye said Hon. Alli never cease to amaze him as Otukpo local government Chairman who has performed excellently well and continues to make him proud for his numerous projects and examplary character.

The District head of Okete Ward, Chief Inalegwu Abounu appreciated the Chairman for bringing the skills acquisition and entrepreneurship center to Otukpo’Icho. He said the gesture will bring about positive development to the community. He prayed God to continue to bless the Chairman so that he can continue to reach more communities.

Also, in their separate remarks, Mr. Ogblabo Enokela and Aleichenu Eimonye praised the effort of the Hon. George Alli for bringing youth oriented project to their community and expressed their gratitude to him on behalf of youths in Otukpo’Icho.

The Otukpo’Icho Youths Entrepreneurship And Skills Acquisition Center is the same model with the one at Akpegede and it was built, following the success recorded at the Skills Acquisition Center in Akpegede.
