Why I called off my wedding with Actor Alexx Ekubo — Fancy Acholonu speaks

Fancy Acholonu, ex-fiancée of actor Alexx Ekubo, has revisited their breakup, saying she felt betrayed by him.

The Nigerian US-based model in August 2021 had called off her 3months engagement with the actor on her Instagram page.

She wrote, “Hey Guys, I am writing to inform you all officially that I have ended my relationship, engagement, and I have called off the wedding with Alexx Ekubo.

“ I made the best decision for myself because it is important that everyone find their happiness and live in their truth. “

The statement, “live in their truth’ sparked reactions from social media users who speculated that the sexuality of Alexx Ekubo caused the crash of the relationship.

Clearing the air in a statement shared on her Instagram page, Fancy said her words were twisted and taken out of context. According to her, “living in one’s truth is to live as your most authentic self, to live by what you preach.”

She debunked the rumors of him being homosexual and also tendered an apology to him and his family about how she handled the breakup.

However, Fancy stated she wouldn’t be disclosing why they broke up since she and Alexx had talked things out and he had apologised to her in private.
