Rev. Fr. Ibrahim Amos, a Catholic priest, has been abducted by bandits in Kurmin Risga, located in the Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday, around 12:15 a.m., when the priest was taken from his residence at St. Gerald Quasi Parish.
The Chancellor of the Catholic Diocese of Kafanchan, Rev. Fr. Jacob Shanet, confirmed the abduction in a statement on Thursday, expressing deep sadness over the incident. H’
He called for prayers for the priest’s safe return and urged the public to remain calm, stressing the importance of not taking the law into their own hands.
“We solicit your prayers for his quick and safe release,” Shanet said, adding, “Every legitimate and available means will be deployed to ensure that the cleric returns unharmed and in good health.”
The Kaduna Police Force has not yet issued a formal statement regarding the abduction.
