A local vigilante group in Aluu Clan, Rivers State, has apprehended a suspect believed to be behind the brutal murder of a Reverend Sister, Miss Maureen Wecheonwu.
The suspect, identified as Mr Kelvin Okoro, was tracked down by the vigilante team led by Hon. Kingsley Wali, the Vigilante Commander of the Aluu Clan and Chief Security Officer of the community.
The Guardian learned that Mr. Okoro’s motive for the crime was reportedly linked to a significant debt he was unable to repay.
In a misguided attempt to escape his financial burdens, he allegedly committed the atrocity, believing that killing the Reverend Sister would free him from his troubles.
The vigilante team, acting on intelligence, tracked down Mr. Okoro to his hideout in the early hours of today and apprehended him.
The suspect has since been handed over to the police for further investigation and prosecution.
