Rev. Fr. Francis Anyanwu, suspended since July 2025 for making allegations against the Bishop of Aba and other clergy, forced his way into St. Benedict Catholic Parish, Ngwa Ukwu, this morning.
He declared himself chief celebrant of the 9AM Mass last week Sunday, despite being reminded of his suspension. His shocking words: “To hell with the Bishop. This is my home parish.”
The entire congregation walked out in protest, leaving the Mass abandoned. Members of the Block Rosary Crusade, who planned their Thanksgiving, were the most affected.
In reaction, youths of Amapu Ngwa, Fr. Anyanwu’s village, have vowed that no Mass will hold in the parish again.
