Historic Milestone: Isabella Adams Emerges as West Africa’s First Female EMU Train Driver

Isabella Adams, an indigene of Otukpo in Benue State, has recorded a groundbreaking achievement by becoming the first female Electric Multiple Unit (EMU) train driver in Nigeria and across West Africa.

Adams, who is currently based in Lagos, has distinguished herself in a sector traditionally dominated by men. Her feat marks a new chapter in the advancement of women in Nigeria’s transportation industry.

Beyond her trailblazing role in the rail sector, Isabella is also making strides as a lifestyle influencer and fashion retailer, demonstrating versatility and excellence across different fields.

Her success has been described by many as a source of pride not only for Benue State but also for Nigeria and the entire West African region, further reinforcing the mantra: “Benue to the world.”
