Gov. Alia’s Aide Abducted in Abuja, Still Missing After 24 Hours

Terver Atu, Special Assistant to Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, on Media Mobilization, has remained in captivity 24 hours after his abduction in Abuja.

Atu was reportedly seized by unknown persons on Tuesday. Before his phone went off, he managed to call his wife, saying in Tiv “I korum” meaning “I have been abducted.”

Family members and associates say all efforts to reach him since then have been unsuccessful, as his numbers remain unreachable.

Authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
