Tragedy struck Anwule community in Oglewu, Ohimini Local Government Area of Benue State, as suspected herdsmen reportedly launched a deadly attack on the village late Tuesday night.
According to information gathered by EbonyNaija MediaBlog, a local farmer is feared killed while several others remain missing following the incident. Residents of the area are said to be fleeing in large numbers to nearby communities for safety as tension continues to rise.
Eyewitnesses disclosed that the attackers invaded the community, shooting sporadically and destroying properties. The exact number of casualties is yet to be confirmed at the time of this report.
Local authorities and security agencies have been urged to respond swiftly to restore peace and prevent further loss of lives and property in the area.
