Hon. Angbo Kennedy Agbogo’s Advocacy Pays Off as FEC Approves Otukpo–Akpa–Igumale Road Rehabilitation

The long-awaited rehabilitation and construction of the strategic Otukpo–Akpa–Igumale road has received official approval from the Federal Executive Council (FEC), marking a significant milestone for residents and businesses across Otukpo/Akpa State Constituency and beyond.

The approval follows sustained advocacy and lobbying efforts by the Member representing Otukpo/Akpa State Constituency, Hon. Kennedy Agbogo Angbo, whose persistent engagement with relevant federal authorities helped secure the inclusion of the project in the Federal Government’s infrastructure development agenda.

For many years, the Otukpo–Akpa–Igumale–Ebonyi corridor has remained a critical route for farmers, traders, transporters, and commuters despite its deteriorating condition. The poor state of the road has hampered economic activities, increased travel time, and posed significant challenges to road users.

With the Federal Executive Council’s approval, the long-awaited project is expected to improve connectivity, facilitate the movement of agricultural produce, enhance road safety, reduce transportation costs, and stimulate economic growth across the region.

The development has been widely welcomed by stakeholders, who described it as a major breakthrough for the constituency and a testament to Hon. Agbogo’s commitment to delivering impactful projects for his people through effective collaboration with the Federal Government.

“This is not just a road; it is an economic lifeline for our people,” a stakeholder remarked, expressing optimism that the project will unlock new opportunities for commerce, investment, and regional development.

Residents have also expressed appreciation for Hon. Angbo Kennedy Agbogo’s efforts and are hopeful that construction will commence promptly, bringing lasting economic and social benefits to communities along the Otukpo–Akpa–Igumale corridor.
