Governorship aspirant of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Benue State, Dr. Peter Adejoh, has condemned the killing of former Benue State Secretary to the Government (SSG), Professor David Onu Salifu, declaring that “no Nigerian is safe until bandits are defeated.”
In a statement issued on Friday, Adejoh described the late Professor Salifu as an accomplished statesman, renowned scholar and dedicated public servant whose death is a painful loss to Benue State, the academic community, and Nigeria as a whole.
He expressed deep sympathy to the Salifu family, the people of Benue State, and all those mourning the former SSG, praying that God grants them the strength to bear the irreparable loss.
Adejoh said the tragic incident underscores the worsening security situation in the country and called on the Federal Government and security agencies to intensify efforts to rid the nation of bandits and other criminal elements.
According to him, the continued killings of innocent Nigerians, regardless of their status, demonstrate the urgent need for decisive action to restore peace and protect lives and property.
He stressed that every Nigerian deserves to live without fear, insisting that lasting security remains the foundation for meaningful development.
“No Nigerian is safe until bandits are defeated,” Adejoh stated, urging authorities to take immediate and coordinated measures to end the wave of insecurity across the country.
He prayed for the peaceful repose of Professor David Onu Salifu’s soul and called on Nigerians to unite in the fight against insecurity.
