Adoka/Ugboju Assembly Aspirant John Ojila Accuses Benue Government of Sponsoring Herders’ Attacks in Zone C

Otukpo, Benue State – A House of Assembly aspirant for the Adoka/Ugboju State Constituency, Honourable John Ojila, has accused the Benue State Government of actions he claims have emboldened armed herders responsible for attacks in parts of Benue South (Zone C).

In a statement shared on his social media page, Ojila alleged that the state government’s donation of cash and food items to Fulani communities had strengthened those responsible for violent attacks in Ugboju and Otukpo.

According to him:

“The donations of millions of naira and thousands of bags of food items to the Fulani terrorists by the APC government in Benue State have further empowered the Fulani terrorists to kill more people in Ugboju and Otukpo. Bad initiative.”

The aspirant criticised the reported donations, describing them as a wrong policy that, in his view, has worsened the security situation in the area.

The Benue State Government has not publicly responded to Ojila’s allegations at the time of filing this report. EbonyNaija Media has not independently verified the claims.

The allegation comes amid growing concerns over recurring attacks and insecurity in parts of Benue South, with residents and political leaders continuing to call for stronger security measures to protect lives and property.
