AMB.Lilian Adoyi-Ofiebor Urges Zone C Leaders to Set Aside Politics, Unite Against Insecurity

Lilian Adoyi-Ofiebor has called on political leaders, traditional rulers, community heads, and stakeholders across Benue South Senatorial District (Zone C) to put aside political differences and work together to tackle the growing insecurity affecting communities across the region.

In a statement, Adoyi-Ofiebor stressed that the worsening security situation demands unity rather than political rivalry, noting that bandits and other criminal elements do not discriminate based on political affiliation, ethnicity, or religion.

Using the analogy of a house on fire, she said that when lives are at stake, everyone must come together irrespective of party lines.

“When a house is on fire, no one argues about who owns the biggest room. Everyone joins hands to put out the flames. When danger is at our doorstep, we do not ask which party a person belongs to before standing together to protect our people,” she said.

She maintained that genuine leadership requires difficult conversations, courage, compromise, and a collective commitment to securing lasting peace in Zone C.

According to her, the insecurity confronting the district has become a common enemy, as criminals attack communities without regard for political affiliation or social status.

Adoyi-Ofiebor therefore urged leaders in government and opposition, as well as traditional rulers and community leaders, to close ranks and speak with one voice in defence of the people.

“Politics can wait. Human lives cannot,” she stated.

She added that there would be time for campaigns, political debates, and elections when farmers could return safely to their farms, children could go to school without fear, and families could once again sleep peacefully in their homes.

Calling for decisive action, Adoyi-Ofiebor said history would remember leaders who chose unity over division and placed the safety and well-being of their people above partisan interests.

She concluded by praying for the souls of those who lost their lives in the ongoing insecurity across Zone C and asked God to bless the people of Benue South, Benue State, and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
