Former Otukpo Caretaker Chairman Hon. Udeh Ijachi Assássïnated in Otukpo

 

Tragedy struck in Otukpo, Benue State on Thursday Night as the former caretaker chairman of Otukpo Local Government, Honourable Udeh Ijachi, popularly known as Honourable Ukpem, was reportedly shöt deàd by unknown gunmen.

According to eyewitness accounts to EbonyNaija MediaBlog, the incident occurred in front of Okabido Hotel in Otukpo, where the former council boss was attàcked. The gunmen, whose identities are yet to be known, allegedly opened fire on him before fleeing the scene.

The shocking development has thrown residents of the area into panic, as people gathered around the scene shortly after the incident.

As of the time of filing this report, security agencies are yet to release an official statement regarding the attack, while efforts are expected to intensify to track down the perpetrators.

Honourable Udeh Ijachi, widely known as Hon. Ukpem, served as the caretaker chairman of Otukpo Local Government and was known in local political circles in Benue State.

More details are expected to emerge as investigations continue.
