The Benue Women Leader of the City Boy Movement, Honourable Ambassador Mrs. Comfort Briggs Lokpobiri, has extended warm felicitations to women across Benue State and Nigeria at large in celebration of International Women’s Day.
In her message to commemorate the day, Hon. Amb. Lokpobiri praised the resilience, strength, and invaluable contributions of women in nation building. She acknowledged the vital roles women play in families, communities, governance, and economic development.
She noted that the celebration of International Women’s Day serves as a reminder of the progress made in advancing the rights and opportunities of women, while also highlighting the need for continued efforts to ensure equality, empowerment, and greater inclusion of women in leadership and decision-making processes.
The Benue women leader encouraged women across the state and the country to remain steadfast, united, and committed to building a better society, urging them to continue to support one another and strive for excellence in all fields of endeavour.
Hon. Amb. Lokpobiri also reaffirmed her commitment to advocating for the welfare, empowerment, and advancement of women, especially the girl-child, while calling on government and stakeholders to create more opportunities that will enable women to thrive.
She concluded by celebrating the courage and determination of Nigerian women, describing them as pillars of strength whose contributions remain indispensable to the growth and development of the nation.
